ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS

The SkyProof roofing System is the result of years of research and development, culminating in a patented and innovative solution for high-performance roofing. The system is designed to meet the most stringent requirements for durability, sustainability, and aesthetics, and it has been rigorously tested to ensure its performance in even the harshest environments.

What sets SkyProof apart from other roofing systems is its unique combination of materials and design elements, which have been specifically engineered to work together seamlessly. The standing seam profile, for example, is made from high-quality aluminum that is both lightweight and durable, while the fastening system ensures a secure and watertight seal.

In addition, the system features a proprietary insulation layer that provides excellent thermal performance, reducing energy consumption and improving overall building efficiency. The insulation layer is also made from environmentally friendly materials, making SkyProof a sustainable choice for roofing.

Patent

The SkyProof product is more than just a folded sheet of metal. Each fold represents decades of experience in problem-solving and performance enhancement. This distinctive approach differentiates SkyProof from the competition and has been recognised by the European Patent Office (EPO).

Thermal break

A glass-fibre reinforced polyamide support, made from recycled and fully recyclable plastic products, is used as a connection and fastening to the roof’s supporting structure. This precisely designed support acts as a thermal break and has been carefully designed to minimise the risk of thermal bridging between the metal roofing and the main structure. By integrating this advanced thermal break solution into our roofing system, we dramatically improve thermal insulation and energy efficiency, ensuring optimal insulation performance while maintaining structural integrity.

Drainage channel

The SkyProof metal roofing system features an integrated drainage channel in the joint, providing complete protection against water penetration even in the event of roof immersion. The upper sheet is designed to fit seamlessly over the lower sheet, creating an elastic interference that directs minimal water penetration to the gutter through an internal channel. As the water level rises, the interference increases in proportion, further minimising infiltration and triggering a virtuous negative feedback loop. This innovative design feature ensures optimal water drainage performance, contributing to the system’s durability and longevity.

Free thermal movement

SkyProof is designed with a unique profile that ensures minimal interference with the fas- tening support (bracket), unlike many of its competitors. This design feature allows for free longitudinal thermal expansion of the panel, making it possible to use panels of any length without interruptions or overlaps. This innovative profile design provides greater flexibility in panel length and installation, allowing architects and builders to create uninterrupted long-span roofs that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Bending perspectives

The SkyProof metal roofing system has been designed with a unique bending process that utilises very large radii. This innovative technique allows for the product to be cold formed using even the toughest and most brittle alloys. In contrast to many of its competitors, which are manufactured from aluminium-magnesium alloys (with a recycling limit of 30%), the SkyProof System can be produced from any available metal. The wide bending radii also allow for the use of thicker sheet metal, resulting in a notable enhancement in the system’s mechanical properties.

Furthermore, the SkyProof bending process mitigates the risk of cracking, which can occur when using harder commercial alloys. The result is a roofing system that is not only durable and efficient but also highly adaptable to different materials and design requirements. The use of thicker sheet metal also enhances the overall wind uplift resistance of the system, ensuring long-term protection against the most severe weather conditions.

The SkyProof metal roofing system’s unique bending process is evidence of the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability, offering a roofing solution that is both versatile and high-performing.

Installation

 1. FIRST FASE
The initial phase involves aligning the first sheet according to the direction indicated by the executive design of the roofing system.
2. SECOND FASE
The brackets are then secured along the first edge rib, using the sheet itself for proper alignment.
3. THIRD FASE
The next phase includes inserting polyamide brackets along the second rib of the SkyProof sheet and
securing them to the rafters that make up the supporting substructure.
4. FOURTH FASE
Once the first SkyProof sheet is aligned and anchored, the installation of the subsequent sheet
can proceed by engaging its rib onto that of the “starting” sheet, exerting pressure along the
overlapping line. From this point
onward, the installation progresses sequentially, repeating the previously described operations.
