A distinctive feature of the SkyProof System is its walkability.
The performance of metal roofs is tipically assessed based on their ability to withstand uniformly distributed loads.
It should be noted, however, that many metal sheets may not be able to withstand significant
concentrated loads without experiencing permanent deformations if they are not adequately supported by an underlying structural element.
This can compromise the aesthetic appearance of the roof. A distinctive feature of the SkyProof System
is its capability to withstand human traffic without causing any damage to the metal surface.
To ensure maximum walkability on SkyProof roofs, the materials have been subjected to laboratory testing in accordance with UNI EN 14782 standards.
The test was conducted at an independently accredited laboratory.
A high pedestrian traffic scenario was simulated by applying a concentrated load at the centre of a sheet, using a dedicated pushing system, whose dimensions comply with the standard specification and replicate the size of a foot.
Two distinct tests were implemented on the sheets, conducted at varying spans of 1200mm and 1500mm, respectively. The deliberate choice of these spans aligns with standard specifications and industry norms, contributing to the reproducibility and reliability of the results.
The primary objective of these tests was to ascertain the maximum loads that the sheets can endure under different conditions. The evaluation proceeded until the panels reached a critical point of structural failure, enabling us to precisely identify the thresholds at which the materials exhibit resilience and the limits beyond which they succumb to collapse.
This rigorous testing protocol not only aligns with industry best practices but also underscores our commitment to delivering SkyProof roofs with unparalleled durability and safety, substantiated by empirical evidence derived from meticulous laboratory assessments.
